Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Ayutthaya Chronos ("we", "us", "our") is a watchmaking workshop registered in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Thailand. This policy explains how we handle personal information that you provide when using our website or when engaging us to carry out work on a timepiece.

We keep our data practices as simple as the work we do. We collect only what is necessary, retain it only as long as is reasonable, and do not share it for purposes beyond the service you have requested.

2. Data We Collect

When you submit the enquiry form on our website, we collect the name, email address, and phone number you choose to provide. The message field may contain additional personal details if you include them. No payment information passes through our website.

When you bring a piece to the workshop in person, we record your name and contact details in a written register. This is necessary to manage the work and return the piece to the correct owner.

Our website uses functional cookies for basic site operation and may use analytics cookies if you have given consent. For details, please see our Cookie Policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use contact details to respond to enquiries, arrange workshop appointments, provide estimates, communicate about work in progress, and return completed pieces. We do not use your information for marketing without your explicit agreement.

The legal basis for processing enquiry data is legitimate interest — responding to a request you have initiated. The legal basis for workshop intake records is the performance of a service contract.

Analytics data, where collected, is used solely to understand how the website is used so we can improve it. This data is not linked to individual identities.

4. Data Retention

Enquiry records received through the website and not progressed to a workshop booking are held for up to twelve months and then deleted.

Workshop intake records — relating to pieces that were accepted and worked on — are retained for five years. This allows us to answer questions about work completed and to provide documentation if required. After five years, records are destroyed.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

In rare circumstances — for example, sourcing an obsolete watch part from a supplier on your behalf — we may share your name and contact details with a third party only with your knowledge and agreement.

Our website may use a third-party analytics service (such as Google Analytics) if you have consented to analytics cookies. This service processes anonymised data about website visits. Its privacy practices are governed by Google's own policies.

6. Data Security

Workshop records are stored in a written register held in a locked room. Digital records are maintained on password-protected devices that are not shared between users.

Website data transmitted via the contact form is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We do not store submitted form data in a database on our servers beyond what is needed for email delivery to the workshop.

7. Cookies

We use cookies to operate the website and, with your consent, to understand how the site is used. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time via our Cookie Policy page.

8. Your Rights

Under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA), you have the following rights regarding personal data we hold about you:

  • The right to be informed about how your data is used
  • The right to access the personal data we hold about you
  • The right to correct inaccurate data
  • The right to request deletion of data, subject to legal retention requirements
  • The right to object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • The right to withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC Thailand)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

9. Third-Party Links

Our website may include links to external sites — for example, reference articles or supplier information. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their policies before providing personal information.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from persons under 18. If you believe we hold personal data relating to a minor, please contact us and we will investigate and remove the data promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised. Where changes are significant, we will make this visible on the website. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
